Bridal Exhibit & Marketplace - Website Completed
Roll: Lead Developer
Special Requirements: A form management system which allows the client to export form data from a MYSQL database to a CSV document or a Microsoft Excel Spread Sheet for detailed reporting.
Updates
Over the past two weekends I have made a couple minor upgrades to the website. Aside from creating a Client Portal which allows myself to manage my growing client base, and allow my clients to ask for support and pay bills. I found a wicked awesome script which completely destroys any variation of lightbox I have come across.
The JQuery plugin is called Fullsize, it basically alters the longdesc attribute associated with an <IMG> tag. When a user rolls over an image with the altered longdesc attribute (like the image bellow) a small “expand” link appears in the top left corner of the image allowing the user to open an inline popup.
So what’s the big deal? Well, Fullsize allows web designers to hyper link an image to somewhere else, and at the same time, utilize an inline popup, something lightbox or fancyZoom currently do not do. I am using fullsize in this manner on my portfolio page.

The Credit Crisis Explained!
This interesting short by Jonathan Jarvis explains the credit crisses better than my Macroeconomics professor ever could! It gives a very accurate and streamlined look into how this whole credit melt down thing got started. Acording to The Consumerist It misses out on a few things "like how shady mortgage brokers would push even prime borrowers into subprime mortgages because the fees were better. Or how BBB rated CDOs would also get split into their own tranches, with the top one getting a AAA rating just like the one the BBB was derived from." But hey, Some things do need to be cut inorder to make 11-muntes of information not boring.

Hulu Drops Boxee, ATV's Everywhere Cry!
My Apple TV is looking pretty lame now. Granted, I bought the ATV before I new boxee existed, but after installing the killer app on my ATV, and with the addition of Hulu to Boxee later. Boxee and my ATV became the source of Non-DVRed entertainment for my whole house. Yesterday Hulu announced that the corporations which allow their content to be streamed over hulu.com do no want the content being seen on anything but hulu.com.
Clearly the guys at hulu are not at fault here, but I still can’t get my head around why the television companies wouldn’t want their content to be seen in as many places possible.
The TV corps. where still be able to gather data, the videos had to be streamed through the hulu player, and money was still being made with commercials present. This just screams ignorance to me. Don’t they realize the guys who know enough to get boxee on an ATV, know how to utilize the boxee “My Feeds” feature to download the shows from any BitTorrent site suppling an rss feed? The lack of progress presented by the television corporations is dumb founding!
Welcome to My Portfolio v2
Welcome to the new version of Jonathan H Logan.com (formerly evolutioninteractive.net) I hope you enjoy the new look and feel. Incase you're wondering, I decided to change the website around about a week ago. The old website just wasn’t reflecting what I felt was my personality. The images and color choices I threw into the new theme represent my very relaxed and mellow attitude. I have moved the site away from flashy jquery and mootools crap all over the place (which broke my simplicity rule) and more toward a minimalist blog view. Since version two of my portfolio is “blogish”, I will be making some blog posts every now and then about the issues and things I find interesting.
